Scandinavia at the Oscars

Scandinavians at the Oscars

While Sweden leads the Scandinavian pack when it comes to Academy Award nominations and wins, its neighbors are no slouches when it comes to taking their share of the glory.

Sometimes you have to wonder what’s in the water in Northern Europe, because the level of cinematic creativity and excellence has rarely waned during the past century.

Most people remember big name winners such as Ingrid Bergman and Greta Garbo, but they are just two on a surprisingly long list of those who either took home a statuette or were nominated among the best of the best.
