Stockholm Design Week

Stockholm Design Week is dedicated to all the latest trends in Scandinavian Design – so here’s your chance to check out the latest in home furnishings, lighting, and all the other design areas where Swedes excel.  There are a multitude of events, with two of the biggest being held at Stockholm Mässan.

Supermarket Art Fair

This international Art Fair is run by the artists themselves, so you’re in for a treat. The goal of the fair is to showcase artists from around the world and create new networks into the Swedish as well as the international art scene.

Avicii

Swedish Electronic dance Music sensation Avicii returns to Sweden for two solo gigs as part of the True Tour, taking the stage at the Tele2 Arena.  This is Avicci’s first appearance on a Swedish stage in more than two years so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to catch one of the hottest Swedish acts around.

National Geographic Speaker Series

In celebration of their 125-year anniversary National Geographic is offering a four-part series of talks at the Stockholm Waterfront Building.  The series features five fascinating individuals who embody the ethos of the National Geographic Society: inspiring people to care about our planet. The series kicks off in February with K2: Danger and Desire on the Savage Mountain.

Dream Theater

Syfestivalen – Sewing Festival

The Sewing festival comes to Stockholm twice a year – in February and then in October and it’s a great treat for those interested in sewing, knitting, weaving or any of the other areas that fall under the rather wide net cast by the Sewing Festival. You can buy textiles, machines, and other implements, as well as talk with the hundreds of vendors and gain information on specialists from across the country.

Stockholm International Antiques Fair

The International Antiques Fair has been running since 1978 and doesn’t show any signs of letting up – if anything it’s more popular than ever and is a fantastic chance to see – and buy – antiques from across Sweden as well as from around the world.
